Diagnosing and Treating Tinnitus

Tinnitus can have different causes, so there are different ways of treating tinnitus.  For some sufferers, minor imbalances in the jaw can be the main cause of their discomfort.   With our advanced scanning equipment and specialized professionals at BC Head Pain Institute, we can often pinpoint the cause or source of the ringing in your ears, and proscribe a treatment plan.

We start with a questionnaire to understand your unique circumstances and pinpoint your symptoms so that we don’t miss any potential factors or causes, and to ensure we fully understand the discomfort you are feeling. The more Dr. Wang knows about you and your history of dental, head and neck issues the more likely it is that that they will be able work with you to create a plan to relieve your discomfort.

We then use two patented diagnostic technologies to better understand and identify the causes of your symptoms. These scans examine your bite, mouth, jaw and neck and are then analyzed to find problem points or other anomalies that could be causing tinnitus.

When combined, these proprietary and comprehensive exam methods can show a doctor and a patient the potential problem areas which may be leading to a patient’s unique symptoms.

If we can diagnose and treat the causes of your Tinnitus, we will work with you to create a treatment program that will provide lasting relief.

Results vary by individual, but many patients are amazed at the relief they feel after their very first treatment. Treatments last about 50 minutes. Depending upon the severity of the diagnosis, patients require from one to twelve treatments, completed weekly. Thus a patient with the most severe diagnosis could achieve lasting relief from their symptoms in about three months. We are conveniently located in Vancouver and Surrey, BC.
